Come on people...take a close listen to this. The acoustic guitar is way out of tune, and piano gets out of time in several places and the guitar and piano get out of time with each other and there are several notes by the vocalist that are extremely flat. Also the voice is a bit nasal for my taste, especially when she increases volume.

Goodcook.. I appreciate the criticism.. it was just a quick recording done at my home studio.. definitely not a mastered or mixed track :)

Thanks for responding Marji. I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to be rude at all, even though it may have seemed that way. The problem with the recording was not the mixing and mastering, it was performance related, primarily guitar tuning and timing issues. I know you did it quick and I was unclear why you would post something that isn't of better quality because I know that you can do a good performance. Truth is, I do like your voice and would look forward to hearing stuff that you take the proper time to do correctly. Watch the pitch when you change dynamics too.

Please be open minded to the criticism as you can use it to better yourself and your gift. You can't take it too personal or the world will never get your best. Your voice has a purity that is pleasing to listen to. The test of a great song is the after effect when you hear it for the first time. It stays in your head (sometimes for several days) and you want to hum it, sing it or even picture it in your head. Your song is one of these songs. Now go and perfect it!

Although I do have to agree that with goodcook about the guitar being out of tune. That was more noticeable towards the end of the song for whatever reason, but that's an easy fix, otherwise, outstanding job.

Thanks for agreeing Timreph...it is very noticeable. Marji has a very good voice with good songwriting skills also. But even with that, many artists don't pay attention to the details, that's the difference between passable music and great music. Marji - re-record the guitar and maybe get a better player to do it, rhythmically it is pretty rough. If you do that you've got a winning combo here. One other point, it seems like you are trying to intentionally sound like Olivia Newton John...is that my imagination? Nothing wrong with that, but I think your own voice is good enough to create and establish your own style. Keep it up, I look forward to hearing more of your stuff!

Sarathegun - if you are referring to me being full of it, please notice that I stated that Marji has a very good voice with good songwriting skills. I've been playing guitar for more than 40 years since I was a little kid and am still a professional musician...sorry, but the guitar is way out of tune and there are several places where it gets out of time. All musicians have those moments, when they happen, you've got to go back and fix them. I also agree that she is great! I was just encouraging her that as an artist, to pay more attention to those details.
