Blue Avenue
Rick Brannon
This song is from my Lone Star Guitar cd and produced by the world renowned Dennis Mackay and myself. I don't do too many ballads, but this one was born out of a "sofa lick" (I used to keep a little cassette near me to put down fragments when I was noodling and watching tv) It was recorded at Michael Damian's family run studio in North Hollywood using my Fender Strat and my custom "Tonestretcher" amp. It was inspired by Jimi Hendrix beautiful ballad work. Jimi's ballad playing was inspired by Curtis Mayfield and Wes Montgomery. Glenn Deitsch played drums and Kenny Moore played bass.
