Send me an Angel

Rick Brannon

I always tried to avoid Stevie Ray Vaughn territory because there were so many guys trying to do it.This song is the closest I ever got. Recorded in Michael Damian's family studio in North Hollywood, Ca. and released in 1997.Co-produced by me and the world renowned engineer Dennis Mackay (Pat Travers, Return to Forever, Al Dimeola) Glenn Deitsch played drums, Kenny Moore played bass.

Rick sounds a great deal like Stevie Vaughn, though he probably would disagree. Overall style is kind of southern rock, with a little blues thrown in.

I agree that it is very "SRV" sounding but I see nothing bad about that? Nice chops on the geetar and pro-sounding instrumentation for sure!

Stevie and I both listened to Jimi Hendrix a lot, so that probably has something to do with it.
